IN THIS SESSION
Where You Are in the Process
By now, you’ve completed the core foundations:
✅ Card Against Humidity™
✅ VPP
✅ FROTO
✅ Clarity Brief
✅ Outcomes Pyramid
Your Outcomes Pyramid gives form to your thinking, but it isn’t the format for delivery. Today, you’ll learn how to turn that structure into a clear, compelling pitch.
Why We Shift Formats for Delivery
Many people — especially natural speakers — get lost when moving from planning to pitching. They know their thinking, but:
Their flow disconnects
They skip critical points
They forget transition language
The audience struggles to follow
This module introduces a delivery version of the pyramid — same logic, reorganised for spoken flow.
The Delivery Structure
Your delivery framework follows a clear sequence:
Creative Opening
Introduction (linked to the opening)
Desired Outcome
Agenda items
For each agenda item:
Key point
Proof
Restated key point
Recap (agenda + key points)
Final desired outcome
Thank and close
This mirrors the classic communication principle:
Tell them what you’re going to tell them.
Tell them.
Tell them what you told them.
But with structure designed for clarity and momentum.
The Role of Connector Sentences
Connector sentences help maintain flow, signal transitions, and prevent confusion.
Examples include:
“So what I’d like to share with you today is…”
“And I’m going to do that by walking you through three things…”
“The first thing I want to talk to you about is…”
“The key thing I want you to know about this is…”
“And here’s why…”
“So for all these reasons…”
“The next thing I’d like to talk to you about is…”
“To recap…”
As you gain confidence, you’ll rely less on phrases — sometimes a simple pause will be enough. But for now, these act as training wheels to keep your delivery organised.
Why Restating Your Key Point Matters
After delivering your proof, always restate your key point.
It prevents:
The audience getting stuck on a detail
Internal debate about proof overshadowing the message
distraction during your transition to the next section
It’s not repetition — it’s reinforcement.
Just like news and reality TV:
They tell you what’s coming, show it, then remind you what you saw — and it never feels repetitive.
Your pitch benefits from the same rhythm.
Recap and Final Outcome
Once you’ve worked through all agenda items, recap:
Each agenda section
Each key point
In one clear line each
Then return to your desired outcome and restate it powerfully.
Finally — thank the audience.
Their time and attention are a gift, and your pitch only moves forward with their buy-in.
Practice Round
You’ll first practise this structure on a low-stakes topic — like recommending a restaurant or favourite meal — to build muscle memory. Then you’ll apply the framework to your Card Against Humidity™.
Why This Skill Matters
Once you know how to:
Build your thinking
Deliver it clearly
Connect each idea smoothly
…you’ll never lose clarity under pressure again.
This approach works for:
Boardroom decisions
Project pitches
Funding requests
Sales conversations
Internal alignment
Everyday leadership communication
Anywhere persuasion and clarity matter — this structure works.
Your Homework
Populate your delivery framework using the same content from your Outcomes Pyramid.
Once that’s complete, you’ll have everything you need to build and deliver a pitch that doesn’t get lost, diluted, or forgotten.
Next up: your final module — then you’re ready to take this into the real world.
See you there.
